Compound workers (yhdistelmätyöntekijä) usually work in day-care centres, where the work is divided into kitchen and cleaning work.
If the work is mostly kitchen work, the compound worker works in the kitchen alone, taking care of the various tasks of the serving kitchen. The work includes preparing breakfast and snacks, setting up the day-care groups’ serving trolleys, presenting lunch and taking care of self-monitoring and dishwashing. Day-care centres are usually quite small units, so the duties may also include cleaning the premises.
If the work is mostly cleaning work, the compound worker also helps with dishwashing in the kitchen.
There is plenty of work available, so employees can customise a package that suits their own schedule. Work is available from one-day substitutions to longer employment relationships. Shifts mostly take place on weekdays, from 7:00 to 15:00.
